Overview

Mine, cultivate, and maintain new and existing customers. Build deep relationships to execute personal sales goals that aligns with a Divisional strategy. To be successful one must be self-sufficient, innovative and be able to work independently to help execute the sales strategy for all of our products.

 

Position based out of the following location:

Chicago, IL

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Building strong relationships with contacts at all levels across a variety of functions within customer organizations
  • Succeeds by understanding the goals and concepts of our business and incorporating these goals daily to achieve sales and profitability targets
  • Will work closely with our sales and operations teams to creatively achieve both company and customer objectives
  • Will keep customers informed about industry and economic trends to demonstrate Vulcan’s ability to assist customers in adapting to change
  • Understands and monitors the competitive environment and provides market intelligence to the sales team to help shape sales strategies, price and inventory levels
  • Will find ways to increase revenue from customers by selling value added products to enhance our market share
  • Will manage accounts including; understanding margin analysis, competitive market information and quality improvement initiatives
  • Will lead and assist in the development and execution of appropriate sales and commercial programs to drive growth and revenue
  • High frequency of travel, overnights will be mandatory

Qualifications

    • Sales experience
    • Strong business acumen with excellent customer service, interpersonal and both oral, and written communication skills; persuasive negotiation skills
    • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships quickly
    • Effective problem-solving/conflict resolution skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Assertive/Confident - ability to ask for orders, demand mutual respect within buyer/seller transaction while maintaining humility
    • Keen attention to detail with a strong aptitude for math
    • Ability to work well and excel within a team or individually
    • Preferred
    • Multiple years field/territory management
    • Microsoft Office experience, specifically Excel
    • Outside sales/travel experience
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Flexibility to relocate in the future - multiple divisions
